  • Position: Artist Mentor
    Location: Portland, OR
    Schedule: Flexible – Part-time (minimum 30 hrs/month) or Full-time (up to 40 hrs/week)
    Shifts Available: Days and evenings, 7 days a week
    Pay: $20.00–$23.00 per hour, depending on experience and schedule.
    Benefits: Generous and scaled based on the number of hours scheduled and worked each month.

    About the Role:
    Artist Mentors at Artsify take a creative and person-centered approach to supporting adults with developmental disabilities. Through visual arts, music, animation, illustration, jewelry making, and other creative outlets, our clients express themselves in unique and meaningful ways—and we’re here to support that.

    In addition to artistic support, Artist Mentors also guide clients in reaching their personal goals. This includes daily living skills such as cooking, maintaining a clean home, and engaging with their communities. Mentorship is about leading by example, building trust, and celebrating each individual’s talents and goals.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Support clients in their creative practices and artistic expression

    • Build strong, respectful relationships based on individual strengths and goals

    • Assist with life skills such as cooking, cleaning, and personal organization

    • Encourage community participation and exploration of cultural experiences

    • Maintain accurate documentation of activities and progress

    • Provide dependable, compassionate, and professional support

    Who We’re Looking For:

    • Creative, compassionate, and reliable individuals

    • Comfortable working independently and in community settings

    • Experience in the arts or with individuals with disabilities is a plus—but not required

    • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred

    Requirements:

    • A genuine passion for artistic expression and an appreciation for the many ways people engage with art

    • Patience, empathy, and a willingness to follow each client’s unique interests, energy, and pace

    • Reliable attendance, punctuality, and clear, proactive communication

    • High school diploma or GED

    • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (past 3 years)

    • Access to a clean, safe, and insured vehicle suitable for transporting clients (mileage reimbursement provided)

    • Deep respect for client independence, privacy, and individuality

    • Ability to pass a background check prior to starting employment

    • CPR and First Aid certification (Artsify can assist in obtaining these)
